Steve and Bonnie are no strangers to the fitness industry. Steve began working at his first health club in 1994 and Bonnie began in 1990. After Steve got certified as both an aerobics instructor and personal trainer 1995, he knew he wanted to continue his education so he could help more people. Steve studied Exercise Nutrition and also graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy. A week after he graduated he got his first opportunity to do a health club and they never looked back.

Before Steve and Bonnie got married they both knew they wanted to own their own health club one day. As their dream came true so did many members' dreams of getting fit. Their passion is educating and motivating their members. Although they love running the business, they love making a difference even more.

MORE ABOUT STEVE

When it comes to struggling with weight, Steve understands. He was overweight in his youth and remembers dieting at a early age. After joining the wrestling team and lifting weights in his garage as a teenager, he started to experience what exercise can do for someone's body and self esteem. Steve started bodybuilding in college, partially out of curiosity and partially to help keep himself in check. After he experienced how fitness could make an impact on someone's life he was hooked.

Steve teaches kickboxing and Boot Camp at both Longevity Clubs.

This is a picture of Steve after winning Mr. Northwest Florida and the Capitol City Classic in 2002. Steve has taken home over 18 trophies over the last twelve years in body building competitions. Although Steve knows most women do not want to end up looking like a bodybuilder, he can use his experience and knowledge to help others learn how to take control over their bodies and reach their goals.

Up Close and Personal

Steve, who grew up near the West Palm area, discovered fitness at young age. Working out in the garage became his early morning routine after joining the wrestling team in high school. As he became an adult, exercise became more than just a routine but something he couldn't live with out. Weight lifting became his biggest stress reliever and the "side affects" were welcomed.

While Steve was joining the army, Bonnie was finishing her last year of high school and hadn't even heard his name. She began working at her first health club probably right as Steve was moving to her hometown to attend Florida State University while in the Army Reserves.  As Steve was getting settled into his new community, Bonnie was discovering fitness and loving it. The two were working out at different gyms, living different lives and were not going to meet for another three years.

In 1994, Steve and Bonnie walked the aisle together after only eight months of dating. "Mom always said, when you know, you know! ..and she was right.", Bonnie said. During the first year of marriage, Steve and Bonnie took the Personal Training college course through FSU and American College of Sports Medicine. Steve began his personal training business while attending FSU for Exercise and Nutrition. Bonnie, who had also been in the beauty business, opened a hair and nail salon. They dreamed of combining their love for health, beauty and fashion in hopes of working together someday. There dream came true.

In 1999, about a week after Steve graduated from Physical Therapy school, Steve and Bonnie got their first opportunity to be in the health club industry together and they have never looked back. The future was going to be even more exciting than they had ever hoped. Longevity was going to bring them to Vero Beach, Florida and they jumped at the chance.

Now as club operators, Steve and Bonnie have had the opportunity to help many people. Together they have enjoyed reaching out to the community, speaking for groups, leading educational seminars and supporting local fundraisers. When they saw a casting call for a 'fitness guru' for a new weight loss reality show to come to ABC it seemed like perfect fit.

The thought of being able to broaden their area of influence thrilled them both. "Not only is fitness going to affect them for the rest of their lives, but they are going to encourage other people to do it as well, so all the sudden you have these families, groups of people and communities who have a new found love for fitness." Steve said.

After a few weeks of phone calls and interview, Steve got the call. He would be the next new face of fitness. Their lives were going to change forever. "We are both grateful for every opportunity, our opportunity to make a small difference in a small town and for what lies ahead on a national level", says Bonnie, "we feel completely blessed to be doing what we love".

Steve has now completed 2 weight loss reality shows, Fat March on ABC and VH1's Bridal Bootcamp.
